SPTAN1 is a gene encoding the protein spectrin alpha, non-erythrocytic 1, also called alpha-II spectrin. This protein contributes to the stability and maintenance of the outer cell membrane. The effects of specific mutations in SPTAN1 can be difficult to determine because they are not easily measured in cellular models.
Providing modelling and drug screening services for SPTAN1 may be inconclusive. For this reason, we may be limited in our abilities to provide research services for mutations in this gene at this time. Please contact us with interests and inquiries.
