GABRG2 is a gene encoding the gamma 2 subunit of the GABAA Receptor. Upon activation by the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA, the associated ion channel opens and allows chloride ions to enter the cell. This influx of ions helps to inhibit the transmission of electrical signals between cells. The effects of specific mutations in GABRG2 can be ascertained by introducing a replica of the gene containing a particular mutation into cells and then measuring the electrical activities of those cells.

We are pleased to offer our mutation characterization and drug screening services for eligible pathogenic mutations within GABRG2. Please contact us with interests and inquiries.
